biography
Erika Soteri is a British-Cypriot singer-songwriter with Italian and Middle-Eastern roots, whose sound fuses soul, jazz, funk, and r&b in an eclectic and captivating way. With an extraordinary ability to cut straight through to the core of her listeners’ emotions, Erika’s music is an intimate exploration of identity, relationships, culture, and the profound human experiences that shape us all.
From a young age, Erika was immersed in the world of music. Born into a family of musicians and creatives, she was enrolled in a Performing Arts school at just two years old, where she began acting, dancing, singing, and playing the piano. This early exposure laid the foundation for her lifelong passion for songwriting and performing, which runs through her veins. Erika’s fervent lyrics and sparkling melodies reveal a deeply sensitive artist whose soul-touching vocals have the power to provoke a heart-warming response in anyone who listens.
Her career took off in 2018 with her debut neo-jazz single 'Pablo', a slinky track that introduced her distinct voice and emotive style to the world. In 2019, she gained wider exposure as a semi-finalist on The Voice of Greece, quickly gaining recognition for her unique voice and style, but her artistry extends far beyond the stage. Erika graduated with First Class Honours in BA (Hons) Music Industry Practice from The Academy of Contemporary Music, where she studied under the guidance of some of the industry's finest, including Jono McNeil (Michael Bublé, Nelly, George Ezra), Katie Hector (Emeli Sandé, Jessie J, Tom Jones), and Brian Henry (Soul II Soul, Chaka Khan, Incognito). This rigorous academic training, paired with her extensive hands-on experience, has given Erika a well-rounded understanding of both the artistic and business sides of the music industry.
Erika’s sound is a seamless blend of jazz, rock, funk, soul, latin, and r&b, with each track carrying the emotional depth and vulnerability of her songwriting. Her music, which has earned critical acclaim and won awards, has been celebrated for its ability to bridge genres while remaining deeply personal and emotive. Erika has performed at notable festivals such as Athens Jazz, 10th Cyprus Jazz & World Music Showcase, Moonwalk Festival, Fengaros Festival, Fengaros Reacts and has graced stages across Cyprus, Greece, and the UK with her electrifying live shows.
Currently working on her debut EP, set for release later this year, Erika is poised to share more of her artistic evolution with the world. With her ability to connect emotionally through every note, Erika Soteri is an artist whose music resonates on a deeply human level, and whose voice will undoubtedly continue to captivate audiences everywhere.
